In 2019, the Indianapolis Airport Authority selected CHA to complete construction documents for the rehabilitation of Runway 5L-23R and Taxiway B. The project was being conducted in preparation to handle a large portion of the airport’s operations during the anticipated reconstruction of Runway 5R-23L and Taxiway D. During previous studies, it was determined that Runway 5L-23R and Taxiway B must undergo a rehabilitation to support the anticipated traffic.
For this effort, Shrewsberry provided airfield engineering design services specific to development of the Construction Safety and Phasing Plan (prepared in accordance with FAA AC 150/5370-2F criteria). This development of the CSPP included the creation of a template CSPP narrative document that will be used as the base for future projects within the Indianapolis Airport Authority network. In addition to the CSPP, Shrewsberry provided project quantities and cost estimating services for the project.
During the construction phase, Shrewsberry provided construction administration assistance to the CHA team. Shrewsberry lead the effort in responding to Contractor RFIs and assisted in resolving construction field issues.
