The Indianapolis Airport Authority (IAA) recently determined the need for additional hangar space at the Indianapolis Regional Airport. In this new Corporate Hangar Development area, a new taxilane was needed to serve the new hangars, as well as a land side access road to provide parking and public access to the hangars. Developing the area for 100-by-100 foot hangars took delicate planning and coordination with the IAA and local utility providers to ensure that future hangar developers had proper landside, airside, and utility access.
As part of an On-Call contract awarded in 2017, Shrewsberry provided planning, full design, bidding, and construction oversight for the construction of the airfield infrastructure for the future hangar developers. Shrewsberry provided complete design for the proposed taxilane, access road, and utility extensions. Shrewsberry also conducted construction administration during the construction phase.
