Project Details

As the City of Franklin’s notoriety and population continues to increase, the downtown area has transformed from a small, quaint setting into a cultural destination for residents to live, work, play, shop, and dine.
Shrewsberry led the design team responsible for transforming the 12-acre Youngs Creek Park site, situated near downtown, into an event space and park with an amphitheater as its main attraction. The site is well-positioned to support popular festivals and attractions, expand the successful farmers market, and add a new playground and additional parking. The park is within walking distance to neighborhoods and parks and connects to the greater Franklin Historic Trails system.
The project required the completion of an IDNR Floodway Permit, detailed landscape architecture site plans, careful consideration of the engineering components, and architectural plans that reflect the unique identity of Franklin.
